Kroger making $70M in local renovations

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - As the options for grocery shoppers begin to mount, a local staple is making a big investment into its Louisville Metro stores.

Tim McGurk, a spokesperson for Cincinnati-based Kroger, the grocery chain is currently renovating six stores in the area. The project will create nearly 500 new jobs.

The stores being renovated are located in Prospect, Springhurst, McMahan Plaza, LaGrange, Shepherdsville, downtown at 2nd and Breckenridge and Bardstown Road in the Highlands.

The renovations should be done by 2015.
