KSP rule Meade County shootings a double homicide-suicide
BRANDENBURG, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) have ruled the death of three people found inside a Meade County home Friday morning as a double homicide-suicide.
KSP Trooper Jeff Gregory said the deaths were caused by a semi-automatic gun and Earl Tripp fired the shots.
The victims have been identified as Ellen Cain, 42, her live-in boyfriend Warren Earl Tripp, 50, and Cain's 13-year-old son.
Gregory said the bodies were discovered around 8 a.m. Friday at a home in the 300 block of Otterview Court in Brandenburg. The call that brought deputies to the home was made to Meade County 911 to check on the welfare of the residents there.
State police estimate the deaths occurred around 7 a.m.
