LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – University of Louisville men's basketball star Kevin Ware is making headlines, only this time it's not what he did on the court, but for failure to show for another type of court.

According to Barren District Court, Ware failed to make an appearance during an arraignment Monday to answer to a speeding citation.

A citation from Barren District Court said just after 11 p.m. on October 26 Ware was going 95 miles per hour in a construction zone with a 55 mph limit while heading south on Interstate 65.

When the officer asked Ware if there was a reason he was driving fast he politely said there was not.

UofL Men's Basketball Coach Rick Pitino learned of Ware's traffic incident on Monday, "He shouldn't be speeding, first of all, but that's something that he has to address and if he gets his license suspended, then he's going to do a lot of walking."

A notice to suspend Ware's license was sent from Barren District Court to Frankfort. The court said Ware will need to respond to that notice.
