SHELBYVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The search is on for several armed robbers after a convenience store was held up at gunpoint in Shelbyville.

Shelbyville police said they are looking for multiple suspects after a group of people robbed a Circle K connected to a Shell gas station near Interstate 64.

"Friday, November 15 at approximately 1:15 a.m. three subjects entered the Circle K at 1631 Mount Eden Road here in Shelbyville, Kentucky," explained Kelly Cable, a Public Information Officer for Shelbyville Police. "Two of the subjects were armed with handguns."

According to Ofc. Cable, those two subjects then demanded cash from the lone clerk, while a third suspect acted as a lookout.

"The first one was wearing a red hoodie with navy or black sweat pants and tennis shoes," said Ofc. Cable as he described the suspects after viewing the crime caught on the store's surveillance cameras.

"The second one was wearing a black hoodie with a black bandana over the face. They were also wearing jeans, tennis shoes and had a handgun. And our third subject was wearing a camouflage hoodie with a black mask. They were wearing jeans, tennis shoes, and also had a handgun," said Ofc. Cable.

According to Ofc. Cable, all three suspects took steps to conceal their identities.

"One had a mask; that'd be the one that had the camouflage hoodie. The subject that was wearing the black hoodie basically had a red bandana covering his face," explained Ofc. Cable. "Then the subject with the red hoodie basically took their hoodie and fixed it where you really couldn't see. They barely could see out themselves, I'm sure."

The ordeal ended almost as quickly as it began, with the three suspects carrying out the robbery in less than two minutes. The clerk, according to Ofc. Cable, survived the robbery unharmed.

"The subjects then exited the building going in an unknown direction," said Ofc. Cable.

Detectives are now investigating the case, but are unsure if the suspects are still in or around the Shelbyville area.

Officers ask anyone with information on the case to give the Shelbyville Police Department a call at 502-623-2326 or call Crime Stoppers at 502-623-4500.
