LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – It took some time, but Louisville Metro Police have made an arrest in the thefts earlier this year of heating and air conditioning units from a state run facility.

Anthony Jerome Hill, 46, of Louisville, was arrested November 20. An arrest warrant says between January 5 and February 3, 2013, Hill would took the units from the maintenance area of the Hazelwood Center in the 1800 block of Bluegrass Avenue.

Hill, who did not work there, was observed on February 3 by security officers loading a heating/AC unit into the bed of his truck. Security officers confronted Hill and were able to get a description of him and the license number of the truck.

During their investigation, Metro police found that Hill sold the heating/AC units for scrap at ISA Recycling. It is estimated the stolen units were worth more than $10,000.

Hill is charged with theft by unlawful talking over $10,000.
