LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Pewee Valley man is facing felony charges after overdosing on drugs he bought with money intended for his son, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the Walmart at 11901 Standiford Plaza Drive Thursday afternoon on a report of a possible overdose and followed Howe Sedoris, 19, into a restroom when he told them he had to throw up.

An arrest report states Sedoris tried to lock himself inside a stall, but an officer opened the door and saw Sedoris pull an object from his pants pocket and toss it into the toilet, which flushed automatically. Sedoris pulled away from the officer, pulled more items out of his pockets and attempted to put them into a floor drain. Police said they recovered two bindles of heroin and a needle and that a third bindle was flushed down the toilet.

Sedoris' mother told police she had given Sedoris money to shop for Christmas gifts for his son. Sedoris admitted using the money and additional cash he stole from his family to buy the heroin.

Sedoris was taken to University of Louisville Hospital for observation. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $2,500.
