Bearcats win 24-17 against Houston

The UC Bearcats stayed alive for the American Athletic Conference championship with a 24-17 win Saturday at Houston.

Playing on a rain-soaked field, Brendon Kay threw for 386 yards and two touchdowns as UC improved to 9-2 on the season.  Kay also added a touchdown run.

Louisville and UCF both won this week, so the Bearcats remain a game behind UCF in the AAC standings and tied with Louisville for second place.

The Bearcats will need to beat Louisville the final game of the season and hope UCF loses its final two games to capture the AAC's automatic spot in a BCS game.

UC plays Louisville a week from Thursday at Nippert Stadium.
