This holiday season, the Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) program will be helping the elderly throughout the tri-state.
LBFE will be making visits to 500 elderly homes, apartments and nursing homes to deliver a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, homemeade muffins and pumpkin pie.
45 elderly individuals residing in nursing homes will be receiving a gift basket with an assortment of food times, lotion, stuffed animals, plants and more.
LBFE will also be hosting a bingo party at BNCI nursing home in Batavia for 50 residents. Cake and ice cream will be served and residents will receive a good bag with food, lotion, socks, stuffed animals and more.
Over 125 volunteers participate in the LBFE Thanksgiving Day activities. Volunteers donate food and items for the gift baskets, prepare the goody bags, wrap the plants, prepare the food and visit the nursing homes.
LBFE has been making holiday visits to the elderly since 1989 and plan to continue to tradition every years.
