LAVERGNE, TN (WSMV) -

Five people have been charged after a six-month investigation into an alleged prostitution ring in La Vergne.

La Vergne police and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office began receiving tips in May about suspicious activity in area hotels, so investigators from both agencies worked to gather information.

The alleged illegal business is believed to have solicited prostitution through an internet website.

Officers made the arrests Monday at the Ramada Inn along Enterprise Boulevard and seized $3,000 in cash, heroin, crack, marijuana, powder cocaine, multiple syringes, crack pipes, a vehicle, computers and other electronics.

  • Anthony Whitfield, 30, of Nashville, is charged with felony possession of heroin, and simple possession of cocaine and marijuana.
  • Milly McKnight, 28, of Nashville, is charged with felony possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and eight outstanding warrants for failure to appear.
  • Mary Johnson, 39, of Nashville, is charged with felony possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Pamela Mullins, 47, of Shelbyville, is charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Camilla Sommers, 23, of La Vergne, is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and six warrants for failure to appear.

Police said other charges could follow after they receive proper search warrants to open the electronic devices.
