LONGMEADOW, MA (WSHM) -

A Longmeadow select board member is claiming MGM isn't being honest with the gaming commission about how close their casino would be to surrounding towns.

Alex Grant wrote a letter to the gaming commission claiming the map, pictured on the right, that MGM sent them diagramming how their casino would impact towns like Longmeadow is a "false document."

Grant said MGM's map, pictured on the left, shows Longmeadow to be further away from their projected Springfield site than it actually is.

Grant's map shows Longmeadow is actually closer to the site.

Grant said he contacted the gaming commission on his own and not on behalf of the select board.

The select board has already had a non-binding vote against MGM's Springfield casino plan for the south end.

The maps that MGM submitted to the Massachusetts Gaming Commission identify the distance as proximity.
