Molly Wellman's spiced liqueur

Mixologist Molly Wellman stopped by to show the FOX19 team how to make spiced liqueur.

Wellman owns popular Over-the-Rhine bars Japps, Neons and more!

Recipe:

  • Bottle of rum
  • 6 Cinnamon sticks
  • Re-split vanilla beans
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 5 all spiced berries

Instructions: 

  • Put all in the ingredients in the bottle of rum.
  • Let sit for a week. Shake once a day.
  • At the end of the week, strain the solids and keep the rum
  • Make a simple syrup 

Simple syrup recipe:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • Mix together with rum 
  • Bottle it up, dress with bow
