LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A national pundit made a stop at WAVE 3 News ahead of a scheduled appearance at the Kentucky Center Tuesday.

During his visit Chris Matthews, the host of MSNBC's "Hardball," spoke about his new book, "Tip and the Gipper: When Politics Worked" and about how today's voters are different from those of 30 years ago.

"So they want two things.  They want the partisan politician to represent their views.  Go do it. That's Hillary Clinton – ‘we've gotta fight, we've gotta fight all the time.'  It's sort of the Ed Schultz on my network. Let's go in there and fight.  They like that, but they also love the picture of President Obama and the Governor of New Jersey walking the beach together. That sort of political bromance where it looked like they were actually getting something done," said Matthews.

You can hear more from Matthews, including his opinions on Mitch McConnell and why he said "we can't afford to be kids anymore," by watching his full raw interview with WAVE 3 News Director Bill Shory. To watch the video either click the player at the top of this story, or click here.
