Man in critical condition following crash on Clark Memorial Bridge

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man is in critical condition after his vehicle struck a dump truck on the Clark Memorial, or Second Street Bridge.

According to MetroSafe, the crash happened near the center of the bridge around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said a preliminary investigation of the wreck showed a man driving northbound on the bridge in a blue Pontiac lost control of his car and swerved over into the southbound lanes and hit a dump truck.

Mitchell said the driver of the Pontiac was taken to University of Louisville Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. No other injuries were reported in the crash.

 Traffic to the bridge is currently shut down. Drivers in the area should expect delays.
