NEW ALBANY, IN (WAVE) - A brief campus lockdown ended at Indiana University Southeast Thursday afternoon when Indiana State Police determined a person spotted carrying a weapon was armed with a BB gun.

IUS officials say a student alerted campus police after seeing a man with what appeared to be a gun inside Knobview Hall around 2:45 p.m. School officials immediately alerted all students and faculty.

ISP said the man in question was found, and he was carrying a BB gun.

IU Southeast tweeted the following message around 3:45 p.m.:

"All clear: Subject identified and there is no threat to campus. The initial alert is lifted and campus has returned to a normal status."

A spokesperson for ISP said no shots were fired from the BB gun, no one was injured and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing.
