LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An argument turned violent at a home in west Louisville when a woman stabbed a man, seriously injuring him, according to police.

Arlinda Marie Parrish, 52, first hit the man in the head repeatedly with a spoon, investigators said, then went into the kitchen, yelled, "I got something for you," and broke a glass. She returned to the living room with a knife and stabbed the man in the abdomen, the arrest report states.

The victim was rushed to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of North 37th Street.

Police said Parrish placed the knife in water underneath other dishes in the kitchen sink before officers arrived in an attempt to destroy evidence and hinder prosecution.

Parrish is charged with first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and tampering with physical evidence.
