Man admits holding up Subway with shotgun, stealing car

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man was captured Saturday in a car he stole minutes earlier while robbing a Subway restaurant with a shotgun, police said.

According to an arrest report, Jamaal Mansul Harville, 22, entered the Subway at 7001 Global Drive around 5:10 p.m. Saturday, displayed a shotgun and demanded and received the business cash and personal items from the people inside the restaurant. Police said Harville fled the scene in one victim's car.

Police spotted Harville driving the stolen car south on Greenbelt Highway immediately after the robbery and stopped him in the 9800 block of Lower River Road, officers said.

Harville was still wearing the clothing that can be seen in surveillance footage of the Subway robbery, according to police. The backpack he was wearing in the video was found inside the vehicle. Police said it contained the stolen money and the shotgun.

Officers said Harville admitted robbing the store. He is charged with first-degree robbery.
