Inmate facing additional charges after strip search at Metro Corrections

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Metro Corrections employees said they discovered contraband hidden on an inmate during booking.

Early Monday morning around 2:30 a.m., Davis Landrum, 31, was being booked into Louisville Metro Corrections on a bench warrant when he was charged with four drug related charges.

Court records show Landrum was expected in court December 5 for an arraignment on charges from October of having expired tags and no proof on insurance, but he didn't show up. A warrant for his arrest was subsequently issued and he was brought into Metro Corrections five days later.

According to an arrest report, an employee was searching Landrum when he discovered something out of place. The employee said he asked the inmate if he had anything on him, but Landrum said no.

The employee felt something which the inmate then admitted to being marijuana. During a strip search, the employee said he found the marijuana but also noticed a piece of plastic coming out of Landrum's rear end.

The employee confiscated a bag containing four rocks of what police suspect to be crack cocaine.

Following the search, Landrum was additionally charged with possession of marijuana, first degree promoting contraband, tampering with physical evidence and first degree possession of a controlled substance.
