LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A factory worker who was attempting to stop traffic died after being hit by a vehicle in the Kosmosdale area, according to Louisville Metro police.
According to LMPD Spokesman Dwight Mitchell, around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday a Kosmodale Cement Factory employee was in the northbound lane of the 15000 block of Dixie Highway.
The man was trying to stop traffic to allow a piece of construction equipment to cross when he was hit by a Chevy pickup truck.
Mitchell said the driver of the Chevy stopped and told police he did not see the man.
Louisville Metro EMS was called to the scene of the accident but Mitchell said the employee was killed by the initial impact of the vehicle.
Police said the employee who was killed was wearing a reflective jacket and holding a stop sign. His identity has not been released.
Mitchell said no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the Chevy.
