LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

1. Sunny, cold day – We get a break from the snow and freezing rain with a sunny, cold day with highs in the 30s. But snow shows back up in the seven day forecast and the WAVE 3 News Storm Tracking Team is tracking when those chances will be in our area.

2. Schools on delay – Several Kentuckiana schools are running on a one or two hour delay this morning. Make sure you're up to date by visiting our Closings page under the Weather tab.

3. Angel-a-Thon – The clock is ticking for thousands of Kentuckiana children hoping to find gifts under the Christmas tree this year. To help these forgotten angels have a magical Christmas morning, WAVE 3 News is continuing the Angel-a-Thon today until noon. Call 502-571-3333 to make a donation. Any amount will help.

4. UofL set to bowl – Today the WAVE 3 Sports Team will be hoping to hear from UofL football coach Charlie Strong and Miami coach Al Golden about the upcoming matchup in the Russell Athletic Bowl on December 28.

5. Christmas cheer – The Trans Siberian Orchestra will play in the KFC Yum! Center tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army.

6. Red Kettle Campaign The Salvation Army annual Red Kettle Campaign is still going strong. Please give to the cause when you see those red kettles at area Kroger stores, mall and other locations.

7. Donations down – It's been a tough season for charities which often rely on the spirit of giving this time of year to help others. A lot of non-profits are reporting donations are down but there's still time to help.

8. Krokodil in Kentucky – A drug with a terrifying reputation for rotting the flesh of users is making its way across the country. Now, the Russian heroin knock off called krokodil is in Kentuckiana, or so the rumors say. WAVE 3 Troubleshooter Eric Flack found out the truth behind the rumors.

9. Teacher accused of sexual abuse – Hardin County School administrators fired a high school Spanish teacher after police said he admitted to hugging and kissing a 14 year old female student. Edwin Bonet-Ruiz was also the Spanish pastor at Abundant Life Church in Radcliff.

10. Pedestrian killed – A factory worker who was attempting to stop traffic died after being hit by a vehicle in the Kosmosdale area on Dixie Highway last night, according to Louisville Metro police.
