Local moms pay tribute to Sandy Hook victims

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Saturday marked a year since a gunman murdered 20 first graders and six adult staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Here in Louisville a group of moms gathered to pay tribute to the victims and to honor those in the community who have lost their lives to gun violence. Community activist Christopher 2X and Representative John Yarmuth were there to show supports.

Yarmuth told the crowd that the US government has failed the country when it comes to gun control.

The ceremony ended with a bell ringing honoring the victims of Sandy Hook.
