(RNN) - South Carolina tries to right the ship against the red-hot Manhattan Jaspers on Tuesday.

The Gamecocks (2-3) got hammered 79-52 by No. 9 Oklahoma State in their last outing, though guard Jaylen Shaw had a good outing, scoring 13 points, hitting 4-of-5 from the floor, including three, 3-pointers. Junior Tyrone Johnson added 12 points.

The Manhattan Jaspers (7-2) overcame a cold start to beat UNC-Wilmington 77-72 on Sunday to run their road win streak to 6-0 heading into Tuesday's game against South Carolina at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

Senior guard George Beamon led the Jaspers with 23 points, shooting 7-of-16 from the floor and hitting all but one of his 10 free throws. He knocked in some key buckets down the stretch as UNCW tried a comeback.

Rhamel Brown had 16 points and Emmy Adujar came off the bench to score 10 and pull nine boards.

The guards key Manhattan's attack. Beamon averages 20.7 points and Michael Alvarado averages 11 points and 3.8 assists per game.
