LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - We live in a video world. But there is no substitute for a book.
Books form the base for all of us to develop our minds, learn the language and express ourselves.
Reading helps us write and speak better, improves attention spans and listening skills, and sparks curiosity and memory.
As we prepare our resolutions for the new year, put reading to your child at the top of the list.
Parents are a child's first and most important teacher. Reading three books a day to your child or grand child helps prepare them to enter kindergarten ready to read and instill a lifelong love of reading.
Your public library provides great book choices - all free. The upcoming holiday is a great time to visit one, check out a dozen books and start the new year off with a habit that truly can last a lifetime.
