Donnie Hale now eligible for Bellarmine, will make trip to Fairmont State

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Bellarmine University Men's Basketball Coach Scott Davenport announced today that former New Albany High School standout Donnie Hale is eligible to play starting immediately for the Knights.

Hale, who transferred to Bellarmine from Purdue University, just completed his fall semester in West Lafayette and with his fall semester grades now posted by the Purdue registrar, the 6-8 forward becomes immediately eligible for the Knights.

The No. 2-ranked Knights travel to Fairmont, W.V., tomorrow to face the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons, and Davenport said Hale will make the trip.

A 2010 graduate of New Albany, where he led the Bulldogs to an 89-9 record, two sectional titles and a regional crown during his four years, Hale signed with Purdue but attended Bridgton Prep for a year prior to joining the Boilermaker program. After redshirting in 2011-12, Hale saw his first collegiate action last season when he played in 32 games-starting eight-and averaged 3.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 14.5 minutes per game.

Hale will wear uniform No. 15 for the Knights.
