LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Showers will be on the increase today with heavier rains beginning tonight as our well-advertised weekend storm system begins to approach the area.
Temperatures will top out around 60 today with low to mid 60s expected for the weekend. A brief break in the rain is possible Saturday afternoon but heavy rain and storms will ramp up once again Saturday night into Sunday morning as the main area of low pressure moves through.
This timeframe could also feature gusty winds and the potential for an isolated spin-up tornado, particularly farther south in our Kentucky counties. The brunt of the heavy rainfall will be along and north of the Ohio River where 2-4" may fall.
Temperatures will fall on Sunday night and Monday as cold air moves in behind the system and we'll only top out in the 30s on both Monday and Christmas Eve.
