LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – While an employee at Walmart, a Louisville woman allegedly stole $6,180 in gift cards.

According to a warrant, Shannon Bradley, 32, fraudulently loaded funds onto store gift cards which she used for herself.

Bradley was a temporary employee of the Walmart on Cedar Springs. From November to December, a surveillance video captured her taking empty gift cards to the register and ringing them up without putting any money into the register. Walmart believes she put as much as $500 a gift card which is the maximum.

At the end of her shifts, Bradley's drawer was consistently short. Walmart contacted LMPD who checked surveillance videos and register journals.

When interviewed, Bradley admitted that she credited money to gift cards for her own personal use.

Bradley is being charged with theft by unlawful taking.
