NICU rooms renovated for privacy, comfort

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It's where the most fragile, premature babies go to grow and heal. Now there's more comfort and privacy for parents at Kosair Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Forty-four patient rooms are now enclosed. Each room has a recliner and chair the same height as the incubator and more than $24 million in renovations helped create a warm atmosphere for family visiting infants in intensive care.

Dr. Dan Stewart with Kosair Children's Hospital said, "The newly renovated area has single family rooms as twins and triplets."

Babies will move into the new space in January.
