LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – If you're
waiting until the last minute to get your Christmas shopping out of the way time
and traffic are not on your side.
On Monday thousands of
shoppers flocked to malls to get last second Christmas presents.
Drivers on Shelbyville Road waiting in
line to get to Mall St. Matthews and Oxmoor Center were stuck in traffic backed
up on the Watterson westbound, all the way up the ramp to Interstate 64 during
Shopper Yveshia Klingman described her
shopping experience as, "A zoo. There are people everywhere and I mean there's
a lot of associates there too trying to help you get in and out but crazy
because everyone is doing their shopping late."
This holiday shopping season is also
six days shorter than last year because of a late thanksgiving.
Bad weather in two of those weekends
also delayed many shoppers.
