Witness helps police arrest 3 burglary suspects

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Three people stand accused of burglary after a witness told police they stripped a vacant home of copper wiring and other recyclable items.

Just before 1 p.m. Thursday officers responded to a break in happening at 3530 Craig Avenue in the Jacobs neighborhood of Louisville.

Police found Joseph McAllister, 51, Leigh Honsell, 33 and Jeremy McAllister, 31, sitting in a Jeep outside the home. According to an arrest report, officers observed copper pipe and other recyclables in plain view scattered throughout the vehicle.

A detective searched the home and determined copper had been cut from the piping.

The witness confirmed with police that he saw the three suspects removing copper and other items from the house.

All three people face a felony charge of third degree burglary.
