LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Fans of Kentucky's two highly ranked college basketball teams prepared for Saturday's game by purchasing clothing, pizza and more.

The Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats will play at 4 p.m. Saturday at Rupp Arena in Lexington. The Cardinals won last year's matchup -- and the national championship -- leading some Wildcat fans to hope for revenge.

"At school, I got a lot of trash talk about Louisville beating Kentucky," said Jake McMahon, 9, as his mom bought blue-and-white merchandise at Fan Outfitters in St. Matthews. "It was painful."

Sports clothing stores stayed busy all day Friday as fans of both teams stocked up before the game. The Louisville football team also plays in the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando on Saturday, adding to the sports fever.

"They're trying to get ready for the game and bring back items from Christmas all at the same time," said Tracey Ruehl, a manager at Fan Outfitters and a Kentucky fan.

Fans also visited pizza shops in Metro Louisville, picking up pies and hoping the leftovers would last until game time.

"I'm a Kentucky fan, but Louisville's going to win," said Skyler Hoagland as he made pizzas at Spinelli's East End location. "They're good, too experienced."

The store will stay busy on Saturday because of the games, Hoagland said.
