The basketball game kept a 100-year-old rivalry brewing.  For a day, there was some division between couples, families, friends across Kentucky.  As fans watched their teams battle it out, they jumped at the opportunity to trash talk.

UK fan Dave Sheehan said it is just a part of the game.  "There's nothing better than talking smack.  That's what it's all about., that's what makes the game so good."

In the end, UK earned the bragging rights with a 73-66 victory over the Cards. Fans felt a sense of redemption after falling to UofL around this time last year.

Will Hancock, older brother of Luke Hancock, said, "I think there was a little home cooking."

Cards fans were not completely disappointed on Saturday.  The men's football team reigned victorious in their game against Miami.  They walked away with a bowl game final score of 36-9.
