LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

1. New Year's Eve forecast – After a chance of flurries this morning, we'll see a warming trend begin tomorrow but it will be off to a slow start. The WAVE 3 News Storm Tracking Team is keeping you up to date.

2. Deadly Dixie Highway – A pedestrian who was hit and killed over the weekend along a dark stretch of the highway near the community of West Point in Louisville has been identified. Early this morning, another man was struck by a car on Dixie Highway between Gagel Avenue and the Watterson. That man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

3. Unemployment benefits gone – Long-term jobless benefits expired Saturday for an estimated 1.3 million Americans, including 18,000 Kentucky residents and more than 19,000 Hoosiers who will no longer receive unemployment checks that average $1,000 a month.

4. Flooding woes continue – This morning rescue crews will continue their search for a woman who disappeared when a car she was riding in was swept away by floodwaters in Pike County, Indiana. Flood warnings are currently in effect for the following Indiana counties: Washington, Jackson, Lawrence

5. KSP looking for 2 men – A vehicle pursuit ended in a crash and lead police to arrest one juvenile. Kentucky State Police officers are searching for two other men who ran from the scene. An alert was sent to Trimble County residents asking them to be on alert.

6. Smack talk – Smack talk between Cards and Cats fans is sure to continue around the watercooler this morning after UK beat UofL in the ‘Battle of the Bluegrass' Saturday.

7. Football redemption – The UofL football team lessened the sting of the basketball loss with a rollover win in the Russell Athletic Bowl Saturday night. It's Coach Strong's third bowl win with the Cards, the most of any coach in school history.

8. Will he stay or will he go? – Speculation continues as Cards fans wait for Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to make an announcement as to whether he will head to the NFL or stay at UofL for his senior year. Bridgewater earned his sports administration degree a year early, graduating in December of this year.

9. Drunken encounter – An Evansville woman woke up Sunday to a stranger on her couch. The victim told police she didn't know the 23-year-old man and didn't let him in her home. Police say the man was intoxicated.

10. Big Four Bridge light show – A nearly $2 million project is set to make the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge a little more colorful.  Waterfront Park officials plan to attract more tourists with LED lights that can be programmed for a light show.
