Lauren Jones says no problems for New Year's Eve, just cold

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Cold temperatures continue this morning with highs topping out near 40 today under mostly sunny skies.

No issues - rain or snow - tonight as temperatures dip to 31 by midnight.

New Year's Day looks nice with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s with increasing clouds.

Rain will develop in southern Indiana late Wednesday before transitioning to snow overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning. Minor accumulation of 0.5 to 2 inches possible by Thursday afternoon for areas along the river and into southern Indiana. Lesser amounts south of Louisville. (These are early estimates so check back.)

Much cooler to end the week with another system arriving Saturday night into Sunday that could bring additional snow. All data points to VERY cold temps next week.
