CLARKSVILLE, IN (WAVE) - An adult business was slapped with nearly a dozen additional
citations as police followed up on several citations issued in November.
Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer said Theatair X still hasn't cleaned up
On November 14, Clarksville Police conducted a sting at Theatair X, located on
U.S. 31, after receiving a tip about illegal sex acts at the store. During the
sting officers arrested three men for indecent exposure and issued 11 citations
for building code violations involving holes cut in booths that connect them to
Clarksville Police Chief Mark Palmer said Theatair X said during the
November sting Theatair X management was told they had 30 days to repair the
holes that gave customers access to one another.
When officers conducted a follow up on Monday Palmer said the manager had
not fixed the problems and some booths had multiple occupants, which is a
violation of the town ordinance.
Officers issued 11 additional citations, including citations against the
manager who is responsible for making sure only one person occupies a booth at
Palmer said, "It is his responsibility to make sure, to ensure these
types of things are not going on. It states in the ordinance that he is
responsible for going around checking, on a daily basis that these holes do not
exist, if they do exist, taking steps to correct the problem."
The case has now been handed to a Clark County judge.
