PAOLI PEAKS, IN (WAVE) - Instead of the bubbly this New Year's Eve is all about the snow.

"It's just fun," said Meredith Sierpina. "I just love it, going down and going fast."

For the first time, Paoli Peaks is gearing a New Year's celebration towards families.

"New Year's Eve has its everybody wants to go out and party and we are still going to party here, but our celebration is actually non-alcoholic," said Lauren Grenier, Paoli Peaks.

It's a safe and fun environment complete with a DJ, fireworks at midnight and a sparkling grape juice toast. Families will be hitting the slopes long after the sun sets, in fact some will be here till 2 a.m. on New Year's Day.

"We thought it would be a great opportunity to ring in the New Year and come outside and have some fun in the snow," said Patricia Bookhout.

Bookhout and her family traveled from Olney, Illinois to slip and slide together.

"I'm most looking forward to watching the kids and enjoying them with their first time skiing on the snow," said Bookhout.

Even if you aren't a pro just yet, skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels are welcome.

"We've got many instructors out here that will be out teaching lessons all the way up to midnight tonight," said Grenier.

"One of the benefits of a place like Paoli, it's not a very, very steep area, you've got a great ski school here and the climate is such that's it is not too cold for the little guy, so it's just a great area for people to learn," said Ray Sierpina, who always come to Paoli Peaks with his family.

It's a unique way to say goodbye to 2013 while making memories that will last.

"I think it looks like great fun," said Bookhout.

You can still get tickets at the door. It costs $30 for a ski lift. There is also a tubing slope.
