PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A woman who died Saturday after being hit by a car and dragged while at a gas pump has been identified as a Fountain Hills resident.

She is 74-year-old Patricia A. Covault, Scottsdale police said over the weekend.

Scottsdale police spokesman Officer Dave Pubins said the accident happened around 1 p.m. at the Costco gas pumps located in the 15200 block of north Hayden Road.

Pubins said an 86-year-old man driving a Jeep backed into a car belonging to Covault.

When the woman got out to look over the damage to her vehicle the Jeep ran over her, said Pubins, dragging her for a short distance afterwards.

Covault was pronounced dead at the scene.

No criminal charges will be filed against the driver of the Jeep, Scottsdale officers said Sunday.

Andre Kraft was getting into his car and heard a loud crash.

"I saw a woman on the ground and saw people doing CPR," Kraft said.

Kraft said it happened so fast it was hard for him to comprehend what exactly was happening.

The gas pumps were closed while the investigation continued.
