SOUTH BEND, IN (AP/FOX Carolina) -

After falling to the No. 2 women's team in the nation in their conference opener on Sunday, the Clemson basketball team is stuck in South Bend because of the massive snow storm and cold front moving across the country.

The Tigers' tweeted a photo of the white out conditions on Sunday and then reported returning to their hotel because of the road conditions.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for Northern Indiana that was set to expire at 7 a.m. Monday. Temperatures are forecast to remain below 0 degrees throughout the day.

The Tigers traveled to South Bend to take on the Irish in their Atlantic Coast Conference debut.

While they fell 71-51, Clemson was able to hold Notre Dame to their second lowest point total so far this season. The Irish have averaged 88.9 points per game this season, according to @ClemsonWBB.

The Irish extended their regular-season winning streak to 36 games, and home winning streak to 19 with the win over the Tigers. Kelly Gramlich led Clemson with 13 points. The Tigers (8-7, 0-1 ACC) lost for the fourth time in their last six games after winning five straight.

The Tigers don't yet know when they will be able to fly out of South Bend, but they are waiting for a break from the weather to return home. High temperatures are forecast in the negative teens for Tuesday and the area has seen some fairly windy conditions, so they are waiting for the first available window to return.

Clemson is scheduled to host Georgia Tech at Littlejohn Coliseum on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
