DUI suspected after car's driven into Mesa hotel

MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

The driver of a car was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after slamming into a Mesa hotel early Monday morning.

A Mesa police officer said the car smashed through a wall and into the office and lobby of the Travelodge Hotel at 4244 E. Main St., shortly after midnight.

The driver fled the scene in the badly damaged car but was stopped at Greenfield Road and Baywood Avenue and the driver arrested, the spokesperson said.

No injuries were reported and the driver was in custody, the officer said.

The hotel was severely damaged.
