Kentucky Humane Society pet resorts offer free boarding to outside dogs

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – As temperatures in WAVE Country will stay well below freezing for the beginning of the week, the Kentucky Humane Society's (KHS's) pet resorts are offering free boarding for outside dogs through Thursday, January 9.

"No dog should be outside in these extreme weather conditions," said Justine Saudan, KHS Community Programs Director. "Dogs need to be brought inside, as the plunging temperatures and wind chill can be deadly."

The KHS Eastpoint Pet Resort (13310 Magisterial Dr) and Fern Creek Pet Resort (5225 Bardstown Rd) are offering free room and board for pet owners who cannot bring their pets inside. This offer will be available Monday through Thursday morning (January 6-9).

If you wish to board your pet, make sure he or she has current bordetella and rabies vaccinations. Owners need to call (502) 499 -1910 to reserve their pets' stay. Space is limited.

The KHS pet resorts provide boarding, all-breed grooming and Doggie Daycare for owned pets, and proceeds benefit KHS' shelter mission.
