LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two women are facing charges after a hit and run accident in west Louisville that left a metro police officer injured.
According to an arrest report, police were called to 3501 W. Broadway around 7:05 p.m. January 6 to take a hit and run report. After the victim gave police a description of the car, a blue Chrysler 200 with Maryland license plates, an officer found the car parked at the Walgreen's nearby.
As the Chrysler was leaving the Walgreen's lot, police stopped the vehicle. The two occupants, Ronnisha L. Thompson, 22, and Jelishia M. Brown, 20, got out of the vehicle and fled from police.
While searching the area, police saw Thompson and Brown running across the street in the 3500 block of Garland Avenue. Officers caught both women in the 3500 block of W. Kentucky.
Thompson is charged with fleeing or evading police and leaving the scene of an accident. Brown is charged with two counts of fleeing or evading police, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended or revoked license.
During the chase, an officer suffered a dislocated shoulder when he slipped on ice and fell.
