LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – More than 100 students may be forced to move out of their dorm rooms after a frozen water pipe burst on the University of Louisville campus.

According to UofL officials, the pipe that burst affected the sprinkler system on the first floor of Betty Johnson Hall Tuesday night causing minor damage to seven rooms and two hallways.

Contractors responded to the dorm to assess the damage, but if they are unable to do a quick repair 109 students who live on first floor will have to evacuate their rooms for the night.

Arrangements to move students to two hotels near Belknap campus have been made by the university.

Students who live on the upper floors of the residence hall are expected to be allowed back into their rooms.
