Woman charged with possession of stolen computer

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Louisville woman has been charged with receiving stolen property and tampering with physical evidence after she admitted to having a stolen laptop computer.

In a statement given after she was read her Miranda Rights, Carmen Sewell, 22, told police she was in possession of an Apple MacBook Pro, valued at $1,300.

After the computer's owner remotely put a message in the screen to bring the computer back, Sewell told police she hid the computer in a wooded area behind the 5400 block of Lodema Way.

Sewell, who was arrested January 8, is also facing charges for trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
