Police to give update on New Year's Day double homicide

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Tucson Police have scheduled a press conference today to talk about a double homicide that happened early New Year's Day.

Investigators say Patrick Balbastro and Cindy Burnett died after they were run over near Campbell and 36th Street.

Police say the suspect and Burnett were in a fight and Balbastro and his girlfriend tried to stop it. That's when police say the suspect allegedly ran over Balbastro and the two women.

So far, police haven't said that they've found any suspects.

The press conference is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Stay with Tucson News Now for updates.

    Buena High School, in the Sierra Vista Unified School District, was spray painted sometime over the weekend, according to district officials. They believe the graffiti happened some time between midnight Sunday, May 21 and 2 a.m. Monday, May 22.
