Police seek suspect following a string of burglaries

BOONE COUNTY, KY (FOX19) -

Police in three Ohio districts and the Boone County Sheriff's Office are searching for a suspect following a string of six business burglaries over the past ten weeks.

Authorities say six businesses were robbed over the past ten weeks involving the same described suspect, vehicle and method of operation. Officers are asking for assistance identifying the suspect.

The suspect has been described by witnesses as a white male, approximately 5-foot-10 and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. The suspect has dark hair with a thin mustache and goatee. He is believed to be in his mid-twenties to early-thirties.

Officers say that the suspect's usual attire is tan work boots, blue jeans and a gray Cincinnati Bearcats hooded sweatshirt. Police say the suspect has a distinct gait, walking with his toes pointing outward.

The suspect is believed to be driving a Silver Dodge Dakota pickup extended cab with a tool box in the bed, possibly 2005-2008 model.  The truck has a black front bumper, black door handles and tinted windows. In one burglary in Sharonville, a witness described the vehicle as possibly bearing a Pennsylvania license plate.

Authorities say that the suspect typically smashes business windows with a hammer, or similar tool. As the suspect enters the business, police the suspect say goes straight for cash drawers or registers, grabbing any items of obvious value if the opportunity presents itself.

Anyone with information is asked to call either Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040 or Detective Kris Weber at the Boone County Sheriff's Office (859) 334-2175.
