The victim, a UC student, was assaulted by four suspects who punched and kicked him, and then took his wallet.
Incidents like this happening around UC's campus are starting to rattle students.
"It is unnerving," said Megan Jacobs, a UC student
"It's scary," said Jennifer McElveen, another student.
"It's really kind of scary," said Riley Pickrel, a UC student.
Where the robbery happened, the streets are lined with places to go and things to do. It's also an unlikely crime scene for some students.
"It's just weird to think that it was right here because we live not that far from here. We can walk here from our house. It's scary that it's happening this close to us," said McElveen.
She's just one of many students walking through the area everyday to get home or head to class.
"Normally, you get emails saying they're a block or so away, it's different being out here. I live right, literally right up there, real close to here. That's a little uneasy," Pickrel told FOX19.
These types of incidents are seemingly becoming more common. FOX19 counted at least seven incidents we reported on, all around campus, since the beginning of December. UC students were victims in at least five of them.
"It's extremely common. It's strange, I think, that stuff like that should be happening this often. It's extremely common," said Pickrel.
Students tell FOX19 they are notified when incidents happen around campus. But, they're trying their best not to be the subject in the next alert sent out campus-wide.
"Not that there's a good chance of it happening, but there is a chance of it happening, but just being smart about when I go out, and who I go out with," Jacobs said.
The four suspects are describes as black males, all 18-21 years old, wearing hooded sweatshirts and blue jeans.
Cincinnati Police are asking anyone with information about incidents to please call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
