Shots fired Sunday night at officer in West Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Shots were fired in West Louisville after an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle.

According to a Louisville Metro Police Department spokeswoman, Officer Bryan Wilson arrived at 35th and Broadway around 9:30 Sunday night on a report a woman was having trouble with her children.

When he arrived on the scene he found a vehicle with two males fleeing the location.

About a block away on 36th and Garland, Officer Wilson pulled over the vehicle. Shots were fired from the car toward Wilson and he returned fire.

A K-9 unit was called to the scene and a perimeter was set up around the area. One person was taken in for questioning, but no charges have been filed.

There were no injuries to Officer Wilson or the suspects.
