JCPS extends application deadline for all schools

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – JCPS officials extended the deadline for application and registration for the 2014-2015 school year.

Originally set on Friday, January 10, it was moved to Wednesday, January 15 due to inclement weather in Jefferson County that administrators said made it difficult for some families to reach registration sites or access the internet.

Parents can complete the registration or application process online at jcpsky.net. For those needing assistance, JCPS suggests they visit the DuValle Education Center at 3610 Bohne Ave which will be open Monday until noon, or the Lam Building at 4309 Bishop Ln which will be open Monday through Wednesday until 7 p.m.

Applications should be submitted for the following students:

  • All children entering kindergarten
  • Elementary school students who wish to apply to an optional/magnet program or school
  • Students entering or currently in middle school or high school who wish to apply to an optional/magnet program or school
  • Students for whom an application was previously submitted but whose family has since moved, thus creating a need to resubmit using the new address
  • Students entering a Jefferson County public school for the first time

For more information, call the JCPS Parent Assistance Center at (502) 485-6250. Families for whom English is a second language can contact the ESL office at (502) 485-3563 for assistance.
