Home burglary suspect found in stolen SUV

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police have arrested one of three men they believed were involved the burglary of a home in the Brownsboro Zorn neighborhood.

The burglary happened in the early morning hours of January 6 on Mockingbird Hill Road. A rear door of the house was forced open to gain entry.

Police said the suspect arrested, Austin A. McCartney, 18, was identified after using a credit card stolen in the burglary at businesses in the area. LMPD also said McCartney gave them a recorded statement in which he admitted to the crime.

McCartney is also charged with a January 2 burglary of a home on Sycamore Avenue.

When he was arrested on January 10, detectives said McCartney was in a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche that was listed a stolen from Flint, Michigan.

McCartney is charged with two counts of burglary and one count of receiving stolen property.
