LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police are asking for the public's help to identify suspects in the unrelated armed robberies of two branches of the same bank that happened less than 30 minutes apart Monday.
The first robbery occurred at 10:37 a.m. at the Chase branch located in the Indian Trail Shopping Center in the 5700 block of Preston Highway. Lt. Jennifer Coe of the LMPD Robbery Squad said the suspect is a white man between 45 and 50 years old, standing 5' 9" and weighing 160 pounds.
Police said the man slipped a teller a note saying he had a gun, but did not get away with any money.
The second holdup happened at 1224 S. Shelby at 11 a.m. Coe said the suspect was unshaven African-American man between the ages of 25 to 30. The man was 5' 8" and had a thin to medium build.
In this incident, police said the man also gave a teller a note saying he had a gun and was able to get cash before fleeing the scene.
Coe said the Shelby Street suspect was detained for a short time between a pair of security door, but was able to escape.
