AT&T outage affecting 3 counties, KSP post

CAMPBELLSBURG, KY (WAVE) – An AT&T phone and internet outage is affecting a police post and several residents in three Kentucky counties.

According to Kentucky State Police Trooper Brad Arterburn, KSP Post 5 is currently experiencing a phone system outage.

Due to the outage residents in Henry, Trimble and Owen Counties who call 911 will have their calls rolled over to Shelby County Dispatch.

Shelby County Dispatch will then contact Post 5 via cell phone to assist people in need of police.

AT&T spokesperson Cathy Lewandowski said a fiber line that supplies service to the counties was cut Wednesday evening, disabling service to several thousand customers in Sulfer, Campbellsburg, Bedford and Milton.

AT&T released a statement that read in part;

"Technicians are working to repair the damage as quickly as possible. Wireless service is not impacted. We apologize for this inconvenience."

A time frame for when service will be restored has not been released.
