It seems like everybody has an iPad these days, even little
kids. But how young is too young?
There are now tablet and iPad accessories for newborns.
Fisher-Price has a new product called the iPad Apptivity
Seat. It's a traditional baby-bouncy seat that holds an iPad mere inches from a
child's face. Designed for babies and toddlers, a promotional video for the
Apptivity Seat shows a happy, cooing infant engaged with the screen.
The device also comes with free apps such as "Colors and Patterns"
and "Music and Sounds."
There's also the iPotty, which is essentially a training
seat with an iPad stand.
The product manufactures say that these new devices are made
to stimulate and engage. However, others disagree. Some parents even go as far
as calling these devices "electronic babysitters."
